The Environment Secretariat of Argentina closed a poultry feed maker, a petrochemical company, three metalworking firms and a recylcing center on the contaminated Matanza-Riachuelo River basin. The Russian environmental agency, Rosprirodnadzor, may pay informants who report environmental violations. The money would come from fines collected against environmental violators. BNA Intenational Environmental Reporter, April 2, 2008.
